Janet Evra

Janet Evra is an international jazz vocalist, bassist, songwriter and bandleader from Gloucester, England.

Evra tours across the USA and Europe, with recent jazz festival appearances at the Deva Jazz Festival in Romania and the Linna Jazz Festival in Finland.  Evra has collaborated with GRAMMY winners and jazz superstars including Randy Brecker, Taylor Eigsti, Yusa, Roy “Future Man” Wooten, Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, Eric Marienthal, and Diego Figueiredo, among others.  Evra’s music is played on hundreds of radio stations based in the USA, UK, France, India, and New Zealand.

Evra was a 2019-2020 Artist in Residence at the Kranzberg Arts Foundation in St. Louis and regularly performs on premiere St. Louis stages including Jazz St. Louis, The Sheldon, The Grandel Theatre, Old Rock House, The Factory, The National Blues Museum, and Blue Strawberry.

Singing in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French, Evra blends traditional American, French and Latin jazz flavors with a modern twist and a dash of pop to produce a charming performance.

Evra regularly performs with her trio/quartet at wedding receptions, cocktail hours, fundraisers, corporate parties, and other private events across the greater St. Louis region.

Evra performs:

• a French jazz set featuring audience favorites “La Vie en Rose”, “La Mer”, and “Zou Bisou Bisou.”
• a bossa nova/latin jazz set featuring “Girl From Ipanema”, “Corcovado”, and “Mas Que Nada.”
• and an American jazz/pop set featuring traditional jazz standards from “The Way You Look Tonight” to “Fly Me to the Moon” to jazzy arrangements of American songbook favorites from “Just the Two of Us” to “Smile.”
