Junior Event Production Manager

As an Event Production Manager, you will collaborate with our project managers and clients to help with the planning of each event you touch.  With your impeccable knowledge of purchasing rental equipment and services for events such as audio/visual, staging, tenting, power, labor, and additional site op needs, you’ll bring the clients’ vision to life.  You’ll be a can-do planner and pro-active problem solver who balances all aspects of planning an event from concept development all the way to the event debrief.  Along the way, you’ll work with talented booking agents, art directors, and partners who help bring big ideas to fruition.

You should be ready to:

  • Create technical budgets for projects
  • Source vendors/secure quotes for equipment within the area of focus
  • Maintain and stay within budget guidelines
  • Manage day to day needs for several ongoing projects at once
  • Interface with clients
  • Manage site surveys and measurements
  • Manage technical advancement of artist riders
  • Perform and manage technical direction of live scripted presentation and events
  • Build event diagrams in rendering software
  • Work in tandem with project managers daily
  • On-site event management
  • Manage both production and labor crews
  • Have knowledge of unions and labor (stagehands, riggers, truck loaders, etc.)
  • Engage in project recap and accounting
  • Maintain vendor files and equipment lists

What You Need

  • Event industry experience
  • The ability to negotiate favorable rates on behalf of the company
  • Experience in building and developing relationships with vendors
  • Experience interfacing with clients
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, presentation and problem-solving skills and the ability to gain support and establish working relationships with managers and peers is essential
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Confident decision making
  • Experience in managing budgets
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Knowledge of entertainers, performers and celebrities
  • Strong technical knowledge of area of focus
  • Writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Able to be on their feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently
  • Travel will be required
