HLK/BAYER
A Virtual Platform Company
Product Launches
Virtual events became one of our primary service offerings during the height of the pandemic. In 2021 HLK hired us to help coordinate a virtual XtendFlex Soybean product launch for Bayer. This project was a tall order — our team needed to find synergy between entertainment and farming in the soybean space.
We were tasked with talent booking, project management of the virtual broadcast and running the concert itself. Using the Regestrix platform, our production included live chat with moderation, live polls in real-time and live social media feeds. We implemented these features to encourage audience engagement throughout the broadcast. We chose Tyne Morgan, the host of the Missouri Farm Report, as the live emcee for the event.
When it came to entertainment, we identified rock or country as the genre of interest for Bayer’s audience and proceeded to vet potential talent. Working within their budget, we booked the perfect act — Dustin Lynch, a country artist and fellow soybean farmer. Lynch provided a pre-recorded testimonial on his experience in the soybean industry followed by a 30-minute solo acoustic performance for those in attendance.
Virtual Event Entertainment
Ultimately, our production saw 4,000 registrants, more than 70% of which were farmers, and over 3,300 tuned in for the live show. Our team put our heads together to find engaging solutions for this niche product launch. We demonstrated our ability to blend strategy with creativity to make events that are sure to resonate with the intended audience.

Evolution Festival
Creating a World-Class Festival for St. Louis
In September 2024, we successfully produced the second annual Evolution Festival at Forest Park in St. Louis. Created by ourselves in partnership with the Just Listen Company, Evolution Festival showcased a diverse array of musical talent, featuring headliners The Killers and Beck, along with artists such as Tom Morello, Killer Mike, Elle King, Todd Rundgren, and Son Volt. This eclectic lineup attracted a wide-ranging audience, enhancing the festival’s reputation as a premier music event in the region.
Entertainment Booking:
Contemporary Productions leveraged its extensive industry connections to curate a lineup that spanned multiple genres and eras. The selection process aimed to appeal to a broad demographic, ensuring the festival’s inclusivity and widespread appeal. The addition of artists like Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Pete Yorn, Robert Finley, S.G. Goodman, and Lola Kirke further diversified the musical offerings, catering to varied musical tastes. Securing Billy Idol and Tom Morello after last-minute cancellations by Blondie and Jane’s Addiction displayed our ability to act quickly in difficult circumstances.
Production and Stage Management:
The festival expanded its infrastructure to include three stages, accommodating 28 performers over two days. Contemporary Productions meticulously managed all production elements, from stage design and sound engineering to lighting and artist logistics. This comprehensive approach ensured seamless transitions between performances and maintained the event’s schedule, providing attendees with a continuous and immersive experience.
Marketing:
A targeted marketing strategy was implemented to maximize reach and engagement. Utilizing digital campaigns, social media platforms, and partnerships with local media outlets, the promotional efforts highlighted the diverse lineup and unique festival experiences. This approach effectively engaged the target audience, resulting in increased ticket sales and heightened anticipation leading up to the event.
The 2024 Evolution Festival’s success underscored Contemporary Productions’ expertise in delivering large-scale events. The combination of strategic entertainment booking, meticulous production management, and effective marketing set a new standard for music festivals in St. Louis, solidifying the event’s status as a cornerstone of the local cultural scene.
